I’m so behind on blogging at the moment, it’s unbelievable.  I’m going to blog dump this weekend and get up to date…

I took a trip to Dungeness and Camber Sands on the 2nd April.  Dungeness was absolutely fantastic, what an amazing place, the only thing that let it down was the weather, it was a real pain, dry as a bone, but the wind was so strong it was nearly blowing the camera over on the tripod.  Lots of very cool things to photograph, lots of derelict and abandoned boats.  I was able to get some shots of the sun coming up by taking shelter in the middle of a dual hulled boat that was grounded on the beach.  I’ll definitely be taking a trip back there in the future when the weather is better and the wind if calmer.

After Dungeness I went to Camber Sands, a beautiful long flat beach.  To the west of the main beach there are lots of groynes, makes for some nice shots with the sun coming up behind them.  It was really god to see the sun coming up and blue skies appearing, it seems like an age through winter where we haven’t seen the sun, but again, the wind was bitterly cold. At this point I’d travelled down to the beach leaving my gloves in the car, stupid mistake, it only takes a couple minutes of handling an aluminium tripod and it really cuts through you like knife

After Camber I wanted a nice cup of coffee to warm my hands on, so I decided to head along to Hastings which is a few miles down the coast, I just wish the wind would lay off for a few minutes.  The beach at Hastings is amazing, I would really recommend a trip down there, but for me there wasn’t much walking, I couldn’t bear it with the wind. I wandered down to the beach and concentrated on the reflections on the sand from the sunrise…

Again, next time I’m down this way I’ll be taking a nice walk in the sun hopefully…

Next week I’m planning a trip to Virginia Water for sunrise, lets see what it brings.
